The PDF Developer Junkie has a New Home

Welcome to the Practical:PDF blog the new home of the former PDF Developer Junkie.

I had a great run at Adobe over the last few years. Due to a “realignment of resources” my last day was yesterday. I’m not at all upset so don’t bother leaving any vitriolic comments about Adobe on this entry. I was there for 16 years; it was time. Plus, Adobe was extremely generous with the severance package and during the “event” the executive that actually pulled the trigger hooked me up with a Director of Product Management at a company that I’d be really interested in joining. Fear not, I’m departing on very good terms.

I’m going to be consulting for a while as I figure out exactly what technology to tackle next. I’m not sure what Adobe’s going to do with the PDF Developer Junkie blog but you can look forward to interesting PDF developer related content here; I’ll be continuing to build cool stuff for Acrobat, giving advice and sharing news.

You may, however, detect a slightly different tone in the prose though. I had my marketing hat on at Adobe when I was writing my articles. That’s no longer the case. You’ll be hearing a lot more of my own voice, my own opinions, my generally acerbic sense of humor and, I’m sure, the occasional f-bomb.

I also need to work on this WordPress template… seriously.

No longer with Adobe…just as I am starting my quest to join them. That’s too bad.

Good fortune on the path ahead, sir.
